Lou Carbone is the founder, President and Chief Experience Officer of Experience Engineering, Inc., and is recognized as the leader who launched the “experience” movement with an article he wrote in 1994. Lou closed out the ReMIX event with a stellar closing keynote that really connected with the audience.

Lou covered how the human experience is important in conducting business. This applies across the board from how a company presents itself, to how good its service is, and of course, how great of an experience they provide when interacting with them online. This is a keynote that will really make you think about designing "user experiences" versus just a "user interface".

David Laribee on Language Mashups with the DLR

David Laribee is president of Xclaim Software, an ISV offering document, claim, and policy management software. David spoke at ReMIX about how language "mashups" will be more common with the availability of the new .NET Dynamic Language Runtime (DLR). David also discussed what Domain Specific Languages (DSL) are and how they will help solve specific problem sets.

Eugene Osovetsky Shows How to Build Mashups With Silverlight

Eugene Osovetsky, a member of the Microsoft Silverlight team, is currently in charge of the overall web service consumption experience in Silverlight 1.1. Before joining the Silverlight effort, he has worked on adding ASP.NET AJAX integration and JSON support to the Windows Communication Foundation in .NET Framework 3.5 and generally contributed to the effort to turn WCF into a powerful platform for “Web 2.0” scenarios.

Windows Live Photo Gallery and Flickr

Windows Live Photo Gallery is an improved version of the photo gallery tool in Windows Vista that also runs on Windows XP. It's a great way to organize, tag, and browse all of your photos. It also makes it easy to publish your pictures to your Live Space where you can share them with your friends. A recent update to Windows Live Photo Gallery has added the ability to upload your photos to your Flickr. Photo Gallery will also publish the tags you use to Flickr too!

For posting videos of sessions from ReMIX07 Boston, we took a pretty simple approach, using the Media control built into the ASP.NET Futures July 2007 release to embed videos in the site.

If you're looking for something a little more substantial for your site, but with not a whole lot more code, Steve Marx may have just what you're looking for. In this video, Steve, who is a Technical Evangelist for the ASP.NET AJAX team, discusses the app, which uses new ASP.NET controls, the Media control, ASP.NET AJAX Control Toolkit extenders and more. Steve's post includes a link to the full source for his app, so go grab it and have fun!

SHAWN BURKE ON THE RELEASE OF .NET FRAMEWORK SOURCE CODE

One of the major announcements coming into the week of ReMIX07 Boston is the release of the source code for much of the .NET Framework, plus built-in support in Visual Studio 2008 for debugging into Framework classes. So now developers will be able to set a breakpoint in their code, and step directly from their own code into the Framework and continue debugging seamlessly. In this video, Shawn Burke of the .NET development platform team talks about the announcement.
